The second best thing about Cannon’s used to be that you could tell your friends, “It’s between the liquor store and the biker bar,” but the construction of neighboring New Seasons Market required moving this take-out only barbecue spot. The liquor store is back, although a half-block away, but the Totem Pole Tavern is history. The best thing about Cannon’s remains the bucket of pork rib tips ($16), a grub fest for two gluttons or just fine for four less ravenous. Chicken, hot links, and brisket are also on the menu, but they don’t quite rise to the smoky, fire-crusted barbecue standard of the pork ribs. The greens ($3) are okay, but the servings of all of the sides are tiny, so run into the market and buy the fixings to make your own.
